Look Your Best With Little Rest

Friday, January 15th, 2010

There is nothing worse than tossing and turning all night, only to wake up looking like a lesser version of yourself. Find out how to treat tired and dull skin from my makeup artist San Antonio experience!

First of all, use an anti-puff eye product with caffeine in it to reduce puffiness in the under eye area. This will make a serious difference in normalizing any swelling in your face. After that, line your lower lash line with white eyeliner, which will make you immediately look more alert and awake.

Use highlighter to bring out the area under your eyebrows, on the inner corner of your eyes, and on your cheekbones. This will immediately light up your face!

Last of all, hang your head upside down for about 30 seconds, and it will restore instant color to your cheeks!

How To Treat Puffy Skin

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

There is nothing more frustrating than waking up to start your day with a swollen and puffy face. Find out how to deal with this issue from my bridal makeup San Antonio experience!

The first step to treating serious under eye puffiness is to use an eye cream product that contains caffeine. Caffeine is a vasodilator, and it will constrict blood vessels and push water out from the surface of the skin to reduce swelling and puffing. You can apply this eye product to any area with puffiness, including your jaw line and cheeks.

After that, use the age old beauty remedy of applying cold slices of cucumber to the surface of your skin, and massage them over your entire complexion. This will soothe and calm your face for a flawless finish!

Wedding Makeup Troubleshooting

tea

There will definitely be times surrounding your wedding that you may have a problem with your skin or makeup that needs to be fixed immediately, so what is a bride to do? I have some easy tips to help you out with unexpected problems that may come up around your wedding day or any other special occasion from my experience as a San Antonio makeup artist.

  • If you get an unexpected sunburn, try to ease the redness with cool compresses. Moisturize well, and cover it with a mineral makeup foundation, which is the most natural foundation that won’t irritate skin any further. It will also help to cover up redness.
  • If you have any bruises, cover them with a color corrector before you put on your foundation to neutralize the dark color.
  • If you are looking pale, then opt for a self tanning lotion, which does need to be applied regularly the week before your wedding for the most natural look.
  • If your eyes are tired or puffy from crying, then apply a used tea bag for several minutes. Caffeinated tea is preferable because caffeine will work as a vasodilator to reduce puffiness.
  • Curl your lashes to instantly open up your eyes and draw attention to your peepers.
  • Always moisturized regularly so that your final wedding makeup application will go on smoothly without looking cakey or heavy.

I hope that these tips were helpful to you in avoiding any type of issues for the perfect makeup application. There are definitely problems that can occur, but you’ll avoid all the stress by having these handy tips to help you out on your wedding day!
