No matter what your issue may be, whether you are not getting enough coverage or your concealer smears by the end of the day, here are some helpful tips from my makeup artist San Antonio experience:

•If you are having trouble covering under eye puffiness with your concealer, then make sure to set it in place with a translucent powder. This will help to prevent the oils in the concealer from creasing on your skin if you have fine lines or puffy eyes for a smoother finish.
• If you have very light skin and are hoping to cover veins underneath your eyes, it is best to try a light weight product that won’t cake or look obvious. Make sure to touch up your concealer throughout the day for the ultimate coverage.
• If you have photos coming up, use a color corrector instead of a concealer for blemishes and under eye circles. Top with foundation and a translucent powder to look your best in pictures!

• Instead of using a harsh eyebrow pencil, use a contour brush with an eyeshadow shade that matches your hair color to naturally fill in and groom your brows.
• Work backward in your makeup application! Apply your foundation, blush, and lipstick first before applying eye makeup. This will give you more perspective in your look so that you don’t overdo it and look more natural.

apply-makeup-concealerIf you are looking to have a flawless finish to your face makeup, that it is important that you know how to apply your concealer! Here are some easy methods from my bridal makeup San Antonio experience.

Dry concealer will work much better to adhere to the surface of the skin then a cream concealer. It is best to use a powdered mineral makeup concealer because you can apply it directly to your blemishes with a makeup brush. It is most often preferable to choose a yellow based concealer color because that works effectively to minimize any imperfections in the skin tone. Do not choose a concealer that is too white unless you have very fair skin because it will look obvious and actually highlight your blemishes instead!

Apply your concealer directly to your blemishes with a concealer brush, and finish it by setting it with a makeup powder. Apply your concealer after your foundation, and then set your total makeup application with powder to help best conceal your blemishes. If you are covering acne or pimples, it is helpful to use a concealer that is one shade lighter than your foundation. This will help to lighten the pimple to your skin tone and give you a beautiful and flawless face as a result!

Dark circles under the eyes can be a nagging and pesky problem, so you definitely want to make sure that you have the tools necessary to get them taken care of fast. Here are some easy tricks from my bridal makeup San Antonio experience.

darkOne of the best ways to take care of dark circles that make you look as if you haven’t slept in weeks is to use concealer on the inner half of the under eye area. Blend this well, and then use an illuminating and highlighting product on the outer half of the under eye area. It’s best to use a color corrector if you have very dark under eye circles, and then you can use an illuminating tinted moisturizing product for the outer half of the under eye circles.

This is a great way to completely mask the dark and bruised area that can often be found underneath the eye, and it will also open up your eyes by adding some highlighting to the outer corners. The highlighting will also be a wonderful way to mask crow’s feet and any wrinkles in the eye area. Here’s to a more beautiful you!

This is the ever elusive topic that every woman out there wants to know, whether it is her wedding day or not, because you’re concealer application can make or break you. Here are the tips that you need to know from my experience as a makeup artist in San Antonio. This will help your face to look like a flawless canvas for your entire makeup application.

  • First, make sure that you moisturize well because if your skin is too dry, then the concealer will look flaky or cakey. If you are an oily skin type, use an oil-free moisturizer, or blot with oil control papers.
  • You want the concealer to be one shade lighter than your foundation, and look for either a yellow or peach undertone, depending on the undertones of your own skin.
  • I also recommend a color corrector because it will give a matte finish to your under eye area or blemishes.
  • If you are using mineral makeup foundation, you can mix that with a little bit of water to work as a concealer for your flaws.
  • Use a concealer brush to apply first to your under eye area, and make sure to include the dark area between your eye and the bridge of your nose. Blend well.
  • Apply the concealer to any blemishes that you may have, including acne scarring or sun damage.
  • If you are applying concealer to a specific blemish, make sure to blend well around the pimple so that it is completely covered and invisible.

From this point, apply your foundation for a perfect overall finish. You will notice that as you apply your concealer correctly, the tone of your complexion will look smooth and even, making your face look perfectly beautiful!
