When it is your wedding day, you definitely want to look flawless from head to toe. Here are the best methods for covering up body acne from my wedding makeup San Antonio experience.
First of all, ask your wedding makeup artist to use the same method of makeup application for any acne scars on your chest or back. Body acne can often cause very dark hyperpigmentation, which is a build up of melanin that will result in acne scarring. If you are serious about clearing up your skin before your wedding day, then invest in some chemical peels or microdermabrasions that will remove dead skin and scarring.
Otherwise, have your wedding makeup artist apply primer, concealer, and a powder finish to your body acne so that it looks even and fully covered. Make sure that you do not apply any makeup while in your wedding dress, which should go without saying! It is best to use a heavier color corrector in these areas with scarring for a beautiful flawless finish for your wedding day.

This is incredibly important because you in no way want your makeup to run halfway through your wedding reception! Here are some easy tips to keep your eye makeup lasting all day long on your special day, from my San Antonio bridal makeup experience.
- First, you must start out with an eyeshadow primer that will cause your eyeshadow pigment to better adhere to your skin.
- After that, you can apply a cream eyeshadow to your eyelids, which will serve as the base shadow.
- You can apply your dry eyeshadow directly on top of the cream shadow, which is going to allow for a much longer wear than only using dry shadow by itself. This will also work to give a greater color and depth to your eyeshadow that you are wearing.
- Make sure that you are always using waterproof mascara, especially since this is a hectic and potentially emotional day where you may be crying.
- I would also not recommend wearing a liquid eyeliner because that does tend to run. You’ll be much better off using an eye pencil or a powdered eyeliner applied by using a slanted brush with a dark eyeshadow.
- Finish with a setting spray, which will work to freeze the makeup to your face for a much longer wear to last your entire wedding day long.
These are tested tips that will make your eyeshadow wear last that much longer, even into your honeymoon!

If you want your skin to look dewy and radiant on your wedding day, then you are in luck! Here are a few tips to have your skin looking beautiful and not greasy for your special day from my San Antonio makeup artist experience.
- If you’re going to use any shimmer or highlighter on your face, then make sure that you do it lightly. If you overdo it, then it can show up in pictures and look too shiny or oily. Plan on highlighting only your cheekbones and bridge of your nose, which is where the sun will naturally hit your face anyway.
- Top your highlighter with one small dusting of powder to hold it in place, and make sure that you dust lightly or your makeup will look too heavy.
- Many brides love to put highlighter on their cleavage and collarbone area, which is especially beautiful if you are wearing a strapless dress.
- Make sure that you are continually moisturizing on a daily basis, but especially before your wedding day. Allow your moisturizer to dry for at least five minutes before applying your makeup.
- If you do have issues with oil production, keep oil blotting rice papers on hand to troubleshoot any oiliness throughout the day.
And there you have it – a beautiful and glowing bride-to-be!

This is something you definitely need to know for your wedding or another special event because false eyelashes can bring out your eyes in a beautiful way. Here are some easy tips for your false eyelash application from my makeup artist San Antonio experience!
- First, many women prefer to use lash buds because they are small lashes that you can integrate with your own lashes for a very natural look.
- You will first want to apply one coat of waterproof mascara, and let it dry completely.
- Pour the eyelash glue onto a piece of foil or plastic.
- If you are using lash buds, dip each one into the glue so that a little dot of glue forms at the end.
- Close your eyes, and position the lash bud using tweezers at the base of your own lash so that the glue easily adheres.
- If you are using a full strip of lashes, then you can use a toothpick to spread the glue along the base of lashes.
- From there, position the strip of lashes so that it matches with your own, and use a clean Q-tip to press it in place.
- Finish with a coat of mascara to lock the eyelashes in place.
- Make sure that you use a higher bond of glue for the lashes to adhere so they will stay even if you cry during your wedding.
This is the best way to bring out your eyes on your wedding day!

On your wedding day, or any other special occasion where you are having pictures taken, you first of all want to have the best makeup application possible. Second of all, you want to make sure that your pictures come out amazing, so here are some easy tips to make them look even better from my wedding makeup San Antonio experience.

- For an easy fix, make sure that you close your eyes before the picture is taken, and then open them immediately when your photographer is about to snap. This will help your eyes to look the most natural and relaxed in the picture.
- Also, make sure that your face and body are lower than the camera lens, which will make you look slimmer.
- If you are doing a full body shot, then it is a great idea to put your hand on your hip to make you look less one-dimensional, and also to show off your toned physique.
- Makeup wise, for your wedding, you will definitely not want to use any shimmer at all because it will cause your face to look shiny.
- Remember not to wear any type of chemical sunblock underneath your makeup because it can cause your shots to come out over exposed.
- Put a subtle amount of clear lip gloss on the center of your bottom lip to make it look more pouty and full.
Don’t you look beautiful!

This is incredibly important because having issues with your skin can cause you some serious problems with your wedding day makeup. Here are some easy tips from my bridal makeup San Antonio experience!

- Be sure to wait a few minutes before applying your foundation after moisturizing. It is so important to moisturize to keep your skin healthy, but let your moisturizer absorb into your skin before applying your foundation.
- Use oil blotting sheets if you have oily skin so that your foundation doesn’t run or smudge throughout the day.
- It is better not to use liquid foundation on your wedding day, but instead a powdered mineral makeup foundation would be best. This is simply because if you sweat or cry, then your foundation will start to run immediately. Mineral makeup foundation will also look more natural in pictures.
- Use a finishing powder to set your makeup for a flawless final look.
- Exfoliate your lips beforehand with a lip treatment so that your lip color will be able to stay on longer and look beautiful, without any cracks in the lips.
Trust me, these easy wedding day skin tips are going to help your makeup look beautiful and natural by taking care of your complexion below the surface!

With your wedding day coming up, I am sure that you have so much on your mind. To make your life a little bit easier, here are some secrets that every bride must know for a flawless makeup application, from my makeup San Antonio experience.
- Do not try out a new lip color that you have never used before because it may not appear as flattering in pictures when you look at them later on.
- Always schedule a consultation beforehand with your makeup artist to make sure that you are happy with your look and don’t risk anything on your wedding day.
- Use waterproof mascara every time, even if you think that you won’t cry. Better safe than sorry!
- Use color correctors to conceal under eye circles. These can come in a variety of colors, and you can use green to reduce redness, and yellow for blue or purple undertones.
- Use lip liner so that your lipstick does not bleed throughout the day. If you choose a complementary lip liner color, then it will look natural and not obvious.
- Always add color to your brows using a brow brush and an eyeshadow color that matches your hair. This is important even if you have dark brows because it gives them shape and depth for your wedding pictures.
With these inside secrets in hand, you will be able to have a flawless and beautiful wedding day, just the way it should be!

So you have the perfect wedding makeup application, and all you need is one last thing… a professional finishing spray? There are schools of thought that go back and forth on this matter, whether or not a pro finishing spray will do a great job for your makeup, so I’m going to give you some insider information, from my San Antonio bridal makeup experience.
First, there is a home remedy method where you can directly spray hairspray onto your face, with your eyes closed, of course, to set your makeup all day long. Perfect for wedding makeup! You may want to try this out before the big day to see how your skin responds to a spritz of hairspray, but it pretty much is foolproof.
Otherwise, you can definitely buy more professional makeup finishing sprays from places like Ulta or Skindinavia. Skindinavia has a great wedding makeup finishing spray option that is moisture resistant, so that is perfect if you are crying or sweating on your big day. Ulta has the Sue Devitt Microquatic Luminous Finishing Mist, which actually has anti aging ingredients and botanicals to keep your skin moisturized, as well as set your make up for the whole day.
So what is the best choice for you on your wedding day? It may be a great idea to use a makeup finishing spray to have a flawless final product, but keep in mind that a high quality makeup application should last you the whole evening long when done professionally!

There are many women that choose to tie the knot in the summertime, so how do you know which look will be best for you? There are a few simple things you can do to make your summer wedding makeup look unique and beautiful, from my time as a makeup artist in San Antonio. It’s easy!
- Since the weather will be hot, go for a lighter and more natural makeup look that will stay fresh all day long. I recommend to all of my clients to use mineral makeup because it lasts longer if you are sweating or crying, and it looks the most natural.
- Look for sheer options for your lips or cheeks to give you a flushed and sunkissed glow.
- This is also a great time to go for bright pink hues in your eye, lip, or cheek color, especially since your skin may be darker than in the winter time, and these pink shades complement your skin perfectly.
- Be sure to use a face primer to keep your foundation set perfectly.
- Also, use waterproof mascara, which is perfect for crying or any humidity at all.
- Another quick and easy tip to set your makeup if you are doing your own is to spray your face with hairspray after the makeup application, which will literally freeze your makeup in place, and make it stay longer.
These tips are fantastic to help you be a beautiful summer bride, and make your wedding celebration that much more flawless!

- Try out a tinted moisturizer instead of a foundation for a truly bare look for your skin.
