Subtle Smoky Eye How To

by Bethany on September 7, 2009

If you are a fair skinned beauty, then a dark smoky eye may be too much for your delicate features, so what is a girl to do? Here is some helpful advice from my wedding makeup San Antonio experience.

goldIf you have a lighter skin tone and do not want to go too dark on your eye makeup, then you can use gray eyeliner instead of black or charcoal. It is best to use a lighter gray eyeliner or light gray eyeshadow that you can apply as eyeliner with a slanted makeup brush. Top that off with a gold eyeshadow that you can still apply in the same way as you would a smoky eye. Also, make sure to use a slanted brush to apply some of the gold eyeshadow to the bottom lash line as well, which will give the perfect smoky eye effect.

Last, but not least, always make sure to smudge because that is a key component to the smoky eye, regardless of what colors you are using. This is a beautiful alternative to a dramatic smoky eye that will still give you the same stunning look!
