This is the ever elusive topic that every woman out there wants to know, whether it is her wedding day or not, because you’re concealer application can make or break you. Here are the tips that you need to know from my experience as a makeup artist in San Antonio. This will help your face to look like a flawless canvas for your entire makeup application.

  • First, make sure that you moisturize well because if your skin is too dry, then the concealer will look flaky or cakey. If you are an oily skin type, use an oil-free moisturizer, or blot with oil control papers.
  • You want the concealer to be one shade lighter than your foundation, and look for either a yellow or peach undertone, depending on the undertones of your own skin.
  • I also recommend a color corrector because it will give a matte finish to your under eye area or blemishes.
  • If you are using mineral makeup foundation, you can mix that with a little bit of water to work as a concealer for your flaws.
  • Use a concealer brush to apply first to your under eye area, and make sure to include the dark area between your eye and the bridge of your nose. Blend well.
  • Apply the concealer to any blemishes that you may have, including acne scarring or sun damage.
  • If you are applying concealer to a specific blemish, make sure to blend well around the pimple so that it is completely covered and invisible.

From this point, apply your foundation for a perfect overall finish. You will notice that as you apply your concealer correctly, the tone of your complexion will look smooth and even, making your face look perfectly beautiful!
