How To Apply Eyeshadow For Your Eyelid Type

eyelidIf you are wondering exactly how to apply eyeshadow for the perfect shape of your eyelid, then I am going to tell you the best application tips for each eyelid type. It is much easier than you think, from my experience in San Antonio prom makeup. Here are the makeup tips based on each eyelid type:

  • Hooded: You will definitely want to bring out the appearance of your eyelid since it is hidden. Use a highlighter to apply to your eyelid so that it stands out, and only apply a dark shadow for depth to the crease of your eyelid. Blend the dark shadow that you are using in the crease so that it meets both corners of the eye, all the way across. You can then apply a neutral shade, like cream or pearl, to the brow bone, and blend.
  • Heavy: If you would like to make your eyelid look less obvious, then you will use a dark shadow for the entire eyelid, as well as the crease, to shade it and make it look smaller. Use a highlighter below the brow bone to draw attention away from the eyelid.
  • Deep Set: Use your dark shadow to shade the crease of the eyelid, and then highlight the area under your brow bone. Since this is a more forgiving type of eyelid, you can also shade the entire eyelid for a more dramatic effect like a smoky eye.

It is so much easier than you think to work with your different shape of eyelid, as long as you know how. Take the time to experiment to see which option works best for your eyelid type to bring out your best feature – your peepers!
